Subic Sailing at the Asia Yachting Boat Show Hong Kong

The Subic Sailing Club represented by its Chairman and Past International Commodore of the the International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians (IYFR) Mr. Jun Avecilla on invitation by Asian Yachting attended the boat show hosted by Asia Yachting together with members of the IYFR Gold Coast Fleet last September 7 at the Club Marina Cove in Sai Kung, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The boats that were showcased were highly impressionable especially the Ferretti 731.


During the visit Oliver Besson, CEO of Asia Yachting and Zed Avecilla, Executive Director Subic Sailing Club discussed about furthering their relationship by having Asia Yachting more prominent in the upcoming regattas to help promote sailing and boating in the Philippines particularly the Chairman's Cup Regatta summer of 2020.


In the following evening, Subic Bay Fleet Commodore and Executive Director of Subic Sailing Club Zed Avecilla with the Philippine Fleet headed by the Past International Commodore Jun Avecilla, Austrialian Fleet Regional Commodore Graham Warrel of the Gold Coast Fleet with hosts Hong Kong Fleet headed by Fleet Commodore William Chu together with past Fleet Commodores Cassidy Lam, Joan Tse, Alice Liu and their members Bonnie Cheng and Kenneth Li had a great evening of fellowship and friendship capped by a sumptuous meal and drinks at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. The IYFR has been instrumental in the development of sailing in Subic Bay through grants that have been made available for the grassroots sailing and training programs of the Subic Sailing Club through the Subic Bay Fleet for the past several years.
