MORE THAN A REGATTA. A GROWING MOVEMENT.

Earlier this year, during the BPI Subic Bay Regatta, we began asking an important question:

What if a sailing event could be about more than racing?

While competition remained at the heart of the regatta, we also introduced sustainability talks, environmental exhibits, and conversations about the future of our oceans.

The response was encouraging. Sailors, guests, partners, and members of the community showed us that there is a growing desire to connect sailing with something bigger than sport.

For many years, we organized regattas because we simply loved sailing.

We loved the competition. We loved being on the water. We loved spending holidays with friends and fellow sailors, racing across the beautiful waters of Subic Bay.

But over the years, we noticed something.

Our sailing community has been getting smaller.

We are losing more sailors than we are gaining.

As an island nation surrounded by water, many Filipinos have never experienced sailing.

Yet our ancestors were among the world’s great seafarers, crossing oceans, connecting islands, and building a maritime culture that helped shape who we are today.

At the same time, we face another challenge.

As consumption continues to grow, so does the amount of waste entering our environment…

As sailors, we experience the ocean differently.

We see firsthand both its beauty and its challenges.

We understand that protecting our waters is not separate from sailing. It is essential to its future.

That realization led us to a simple idea:

What if sailing could help address both challenges?

What if we could use sailing not only to grow our community, but also to inspire environmental action?

What if every regatta became an opportunity to reconnect people with the ocean, celebrate our maritime heritage, and build a more sustainable future?

That is why we created the Sailing for Nation and Nature Sustainability Series.

Through sailing, we hope to reconnect Filipinos with the ocean, celebrate our maritime heritage, develop future sailors and ocean stewards, and promote practical solutions for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

The first event in the series is the:
