Easter Regatta 25th Anniversary

​​To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Easter Regatta, a commemorative dinner was planned to gather together all the past winners and the participants in the first Easter Regatta.


The Easter Regatta was started by the Philippine Keelboat Association in 1993. In 1997 the event became the President’s Cup Regatta and in 2010 it became the Commodore’s Cup Regatta. The event has mainly been held at Easter time after the China Sea Race and on alternate years the San Fernando Race. Venues have been Punta Fuego, Manila,  Boracay and most of the time in Subic Bay.

The entries in the first Easter Regatta in Subic were:


  • Azelio Beano's MERCANO (Built in Philippines) S & S 36

  • Ray Ordovesa's VIDA (later Vida San Miguel) Beneteau 51

  • Don Watkins' TARA (New Zealand boat) Farr 36

  • Alan Burrell's AIRTIGHT GARAGE (built in Hong Kong)Humphries 28

  • Guy Sacerdoti's GRIFFON (ex Libido built in Japan) Doug Peterson 42

Jerry Rollin who was the drive behind and the organizer of the first regatta is still the Principal Race Officer for this year's Commodores' Cup Regatta.

The 2018 Commodore’s Cup will be held after the China Sea Race from Monday 2 to Friday 6 April organized by Subic Sailing Club.
